OSLO, Norway (ABP) -- A judge in Tajikistan has ordered a Baptist church in the capital city, Dushanbe, to cease meetings in a private home, saying that housing codes and a new religion law require houses of worship to register with the government.

SAN VICENTE, El Salvador (ABP) -- A Baptist church in El Salvador held memorial services Nov. 12 for seven children and two adults lost in flash floods spawned by Hurricane Ida Nov. 9.

An initial report by the Baptist World Alliance said the First Baptist Church in San Vicente collapsed in the storm that caused widespread flooding and mudslides in central El Salvador.

Even though the conditions they live in are sparse, girls living in a North African detention center, ranging in age from 8 to 18, still know how to smile.
DALLAS (ABP) -- A team from Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas recently traveled to a predominantly Muslim country in North Africa to investigate future ministry possibilities -- and show Christ’s love to a group of incarcerated young girls whose primary crime was a desire to eat.
