WASHINGTON (ABP) -- It’s not easy building green. But churches that take the call to wise environmental stewardship seriously have a wide variety of options -- from simply changing light bulbs to elaborate new construction projects certified as environmentally friendly.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (ABP) -- American Baptist Churches USA has announced a fund-raising goal of $1 million for earthquake relief in Haiti.

The group's International Ministries arm said Feb. 8 it is a little more than one-fourth of the way toward collecting the amount requested by the Convention of Baptists in Haiti, American Baptists' international partner in the stricken nation.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABP) -- A Southern Baptist seminary professor says the arrests of a group of Baptists from the United States accused of trying to remove children from earthquake-stricken Haiti without proper documentation could give a black eye to a budding movement of evangelicals who view adoption as a means of spreading the gospel.
