LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABP) -- The head of a committee that drafted a recent Southern Baptist Convention resolution on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill said on National Public Radio that the ecological disaster could be a "defining moment" for evangelicals and the environment.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ABP) – Ten years after the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship adopted an organizational value prohibiting the funding of organizations that affirm practicing homosexuals and a policy prohibiting it from employing gays, a large crowd packed a CBF General Assembly workshop June 25 on what it means to be the “presence of Christ” among persons of same-sex orientation.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (ABP) -- The Census Bureau reports the Hispanic population in the United States has more than doubled in the last 20 years, from 22 million in 1990 to a projected 47 million in 2010. In 40 years, experts project that one American in four will be Hispanic.
