DALLAS (ABP) -- Organizations fighting human trafficking continue to raise awareness about the atrocities of what they call "modern-day slavery," but they're increasingly making practical differences in the lives of victims and in legislation. Faith-based and other organizations are using a variety of methods to discover and "rescue" trafficking victims.

WASHINGTON (ABP) -- The U.S. Supreme Court declined Jan. 17 to reconsider a lower court’s decision barring a North Carolina county from invoking prayers in Jesus’ name at twice-a-month meetings of its main governing body.

CLINTON, Miss. (ABP) – Longtime Baptist journalist Jim Newton died Jan. 16 at Baptist Hospital hospice care in Clinton, Miss., after a battle with leukemia.
