(ABP) -- While we were away for Thanksgiving with our two daughters who live in New York, our middle daughter, Erin, called with the drastic news that her 13 1/2 year old white lab named Hannah Marie Furr-Yeager (her husband just called her “Good Girl”) passed away from kidney failure.

(ABP) – Seeing the new Muppets movie was a stroll down memory lane. All the way to the theater I remembered weekly family events gathered around the television singing together, “It’s time to play the music! It’s time to light the lights!” Crowded on the couch, singing together, we laughed and laughed at the Swedish Chef and the singing chickens, Fozzy Bear and Miss Piggy’s latest drama.

(ABP) -- Penn State has hired former FBI director and federal judge Louis Freeh to investigate gaps in how the university handled allegations of child sex crimes involving former football coach Jerry Sandusky. To assist him in the task, Freeh has assembled a team of former FBI investigators and federal prosecutors. Many have expertise in child predator cases.
