David Wilkinson serves as the organization's chief executive officer, providing oversight to all aspects of ABP's operation, with specific leadership in administration and fundraising. He came to ABP in October 2008 from the Baylor University School of Social Work where he served as director of development.

David brought to the executive director's position more than three decades of experience in a wide range of professional positions in Baptist life, including stints as the chief communications officer for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as associate editor of a missions magazine, and as communications director for the former Southern Baptist Christian Life Commission. He has served also as the minister of education and discipleship for Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

He holds doctor of ministry and master of divinity degrees from Southern Seminary and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Oklahoma Baptist University. He is a two-time recipient of the Baptist Communicators Association's prestigious Frank Burkhalter Award.

David and his wife, Melanie, have two grown children.
