David Wilkinson serves as the organization's chief executive officer and provides general oversight to all aspects of ABP, with specific leadership in administration and fundraising.

Joining the ABP staff in the fall of 2008 as executive director, he previously was the director of development for the Baylor University School of Social Work, where he helped dramatically increase the school's endowment. He has had more than three decades of experience in a wide range of professional positions in Baptist life, including stints as the chief communications officer for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and  Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as editor of a missions magazine, and as a communications professional for the former Southern Baptist Christian Life Commission. He has served also as the minister of education and discipleship for a large local congregation, Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

He holds doctor of ministry and master of divinity degrees from Southern Seminary, and a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Baptist University. He is a two-time recipient of the Baptist Communicators Association's prestigious Frank Burkhalter Award.

David and his wife, Melanie, have two grown children.
