Bob Allen rejoined the staff of ABP in 2008 as senior writer and was promoted to managing editor in 2011. In this role he gives general oversight to the news operation of ABP.

An Illinois native, Bob is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ill., and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He worked previously at ABP from 1993 to 2001. Before that he was editor of Baptist True Union (now called Baptist Life), news journal for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, for five years. From 2002 until 2008 he was managing editor of EthicsDaily.com, Web site of the Baptist Center for Ethics in Nashville, Tenn.

Bob and his wife, Vicki, have two grown children.
