DEATHS

Retired Virginia Baptist minister Lester Lee Ferguson died Nov. 29. He had served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Gate City, Va.; Ridge­wood Baptist Church, Roanoke, Va.; English Road Baptist Church, High Point, N.C.; associate pastor of Oak­land Baptist Church, Roanoke, Va.; director of missions of the New Leba­non Baptist Association; and pastor of Brick Baptist Church, Castle­wood, Va. He is predeceased by his wife, Nancy Ada Ferguson. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Slaughter, and grandson, Kevin Slaughter. A funeral service was held on Dec. 3 at Green Valley Baptist Church, Lebanon, Va.

William M. “Bill” Sigler died Nov. 21. He served for 20 years in the U. S. Marine Corps, retiring as a major. He and his wife, Mary Dell, served as co-pastors of Kilmarnock (Va.) Baptist Church and Saluda (Va.) Bap­tist Church. He also was interim at New Friend­ship Baptist Church in Heathsville, Va. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Nancy Baumgartner Sigler; children, Deborah S. Deans and William M. “Will” Sigler IV; and four grandchildren. A memorial service was held Dec. 4 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
