STAFF CHANGES

Jay Butcher, to Madedonia Baptist Church, Foster, Va., as part-time pastor.

Mike D’Attoma, to First Baptist Church, Grove City, Ohio, as student pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Barnwell, S.C., where he was student pastor.

Justin Frank, to Penney Memorial United Baptist Church, Augusta, Maine, as pastor.

Chuck Haley, to St. John’s Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, Va., as pastor, effective Oct. 5.

David Hull, to The Center for Healthy Churches, as coordinator for The Center for Healthy Churches-Southeast. His primary focus will be to coordinate services to among the churches and clergy of Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Kathryn Palen, to Plymouth United Church of Christ, Des Moines, Iowa, as minister of discipleship. She comes from the pastorate of Central Baptist Church, Jamestown, R.I., where she has served since 2007.

David Platt, to the SBC’s International Mission Board, located in Richmond, Va., as president. He comes from the pastorate of The Church at Brook Hills, Birmingham, Ala.

Dave Roberts, to University Baptist Church, Seattle, Wash., as interim pastor. 

Jill Simmons, to Journey Church, Roanoke, Va., as associate pastor.

Sandy Stillman-Alving, to Heritage Baptist Church, Wake Forest, N.C., as minister of music and worship.

Meredith Stone, to Logsdon School of Theology, Abilene, Texas, as director of in-service training and instructor of Christian ministry and scripture.

Jonathan Stratton, resigning as pastor of Second Baptist Church, Bowdoinham, Maine, to accept a pastorate in Vermont.

Dustin Struhall, resigning as organist/pianist at Highland Park Baptist Church, Austin, Texas. He has been accepted to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he will be working on a masters in musical theatre focusing on music direction.

RETIREMENT

Ron Bradley, announcing plans to retire as pastor of First Baptist Church, Roswell, Ga., in November. 

Burton Howe, retiring after 32 years as pastor of First Baptist Church, Saco, Maine.

Everett Maxim, retiring as pastor of Vienna (Maine) Baptist Church.

Pam McDaniel, retiring after 20 years of ministry at First Baptist Church, Huntsville, Ala. She currently was serving as minister of young and median adults.

Michael Riley, retiring after 13 years as pastor of Deermeadows Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla., and 39 years of ministry in Oklahoma, Texas and Florida. 

ANNIVERSARIES

Steve Anderson, 15 years as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Fairbury, Ill.

Lin Carter, 10 years as minister of Christian education/outreach at First Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C.

Amos Humphries, 5 years as pastor of Park Lake Baptist Church, Waco, Texas.

Will Langford, 5 years as senior pastor of Great Bridge Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, Va.

Mark Thall, 20 years as pastor of First Baptist Church, Brookfield, N.Y.
