Norman Jameson, a veteran Baptist journalist whose bylines have appeared recently in the Religious Herald and Associated Baptist Press, has joined the advancement staff at Wake Forest University. Jameson, 58, serves as assistant dean for development for the WFU School of Divinity.

Church history professor Bill J. Leonard has been named the first James and Marilyn Dunn Chair of Baptist Studies at the Wake Forest University School of Divinity, officials at the school in Winston-Salem, N.C., announced Sept. 14. Leonard was founding dean of the divinity school but retired last year.

DALLAS (ABP) -- The Baptist General Convention of Texas said March 17 it was asking Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas to remove mention of its affiliation with the state convention from church publications and would hold any funds received by the church in escrow until the church clarifies its position on homosexuality.
